Douglas Fry Roofing was started in Wichita1981 by Doug Fry. Starting in the roofing industry in the mid 1970's, learning the skills and workmanship from two local "old school" roofers would lead the foundation of the 30-plus years we have been in business. Installing and shingling by hand, Doug learned the value of hard work and the commitment of knowing how to install the job right no matter the size or complexity of a project.
In the early 1990's during the new construction boom, Douglas Fry Roofing became the go-to roofing contractor for high-end roofing projects. From concrete tile roofs, clay tile, and natural slate roofing systems, to cedar shake shingles. When the job was too complex for other contractors, they would call Doug Fry to get the job done.
Wanting to give back what Doug Fry learned from his early training, Doug personally trains each roofer to the standards that he has developed with over 30 years of experience. He wanted to give others a skill and trade that would provide them with a sense of self-worth and accomplishment that was given to him.

Jason started working for the family business in 2001 at 21. He started out picking up trash and driving the dump truck to the dump. During the next few years, Jason learned the installation process from his dad, Doug. After a year of picking up trash and being a helper, Doug put Jason on the tile crew, where he learned to install and repair tile roofs over the next couple of years. Doug then showed Jason how to install Davinci, slate, and asphalt roofs and find and fix roof leaks. In 2008 Jason took a job with a commercial roofing company to learn other aspects of the roofing business. From insurance paperwork and negotiations to estimating, and sales processes, to the management side of the production process. Jason learned other aspects of the roofing business and brought that back to the family business in 2013 when he returned to work for his dad.
